Amboseli National Park
Formerly Maasai Ambaseli Game Reserve, this National Park is in the Rift Valley Province in Kenya. Ambaseli has a number of lodges and a tented camp providing various standards of accommodation both inside and outside the park. One should visit this as it is set against the spectacular background of Mt. Kilimanjaro and all 5,400 big bird species including the bee-eater, kingfisher, African fish eagle, marital eagle and pygmy falcon can be seen here.
Lake Naivasha
Lakes Naivasha is located within the Great Rift Valley and offers majestic views and a wide variety of migratory birdlife. It is also home of the hippo.
Lake Nakuru National Park
The soda-rich waters of Lake Nakuru are an ideal habitat for the world’s largest flock of flamingos. The alkaline waters attract millions of flamingos that form a vivid pink ring around the shore. It is also an important sanctuary for both the Black and White Rhino.
Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Maasai Mara, covering 1800sq kms is an extension of the world-famous Serengeti National Park of Tanzania. It is home to Africa’s famous Big 5 (Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo). The ultimate attraction is undoubtedly the annual wildebeest migration in July and August, when millions of these ungainly beasts move north from the Serengeti.
Mombasa
The coastal city of Mombasa is one of Africa’s major tourist destinations, with some of the best beaches in the world. Located on Kenya’s Eastern coastline bordering the Indian Ocean, Mombasa has become popular for its exotic beaches, diverse marine life, world-class hotels, and friendly people.
